So, what does the squadron need funding for?  We have three primary missions – Cadet Programs, Aerospace Education, and Emergency Services.

In Cadet Programs, Civil Air Patrol teaches today’s youth to become tomorrow’s leaders and provides them with a learning environment that uses aviation and the military as a foundation.

Aerospace Education provides our members, as well as the public, with the opportunity to learn more about aerospace and also provides low cost flight training if the members would like to take advantage of that.

Civil Air Patrol performs on average 85% of all inland search and rescue missions.  In addition to search and rescue, CAP provides assistance during disasters, conducts counternarcotic operations, humanitarian missions, as well as other emergency services operations.

The Civil Air Patrol is an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is a tax deductible if you decide to donate.  Our squadron receives no direct funding from the Air Force so this is why we ask for donations and sponsors.  The money received from donations or sponsorships will be used to buy everything from uniforms and the youth leadership activities to the flying and the emergency services training which can be very expensive at times. With your tax-deductible donation, it will help pay for cadets uniforms, the cadet drug demand reduction program, color guard flags and equipment, search and rescue equipment, communications equipment, disaster relief equipment, aircraft crew proficiency training, utilities, equipment maintenance and upkeep, and overall member training.  On behalf of the Shawnee Composite Squadron, we would like to thank you for your interest in supporting the Civil Air Patrol.
